Giselle Fernandes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Brazilian Psychologist and a specialist in mental health who graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and National School of Public Health in Brazil. She has a master degree from the School of Social Work of University of Pittsburgh.
She is an honorary member of the National Technological Society in the USA and the Executive Director of COESA: Cultural Organization for Educational and Social Actions in Pittsburgh, PA.
Giselle has more than 20 years of experience in the field of mental health and psychology. She is dedicated and motivated to help her community and clients.
She respects each person's values and diverse backgrounds. Specifically in Western Pennsylvania, she has 15 years of experience treating anxiety, depression, and behavioral and emotional issues. She further specializes in working with kids, teens, adults and families. She worked for Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic for the past 12 years as a School Based Therapist for Public Schools and Technological Career Centers in PA. She is also a Mental Health Liaison as well as an Outpatient Therapist.
Giselle is a trained Gestalt therapist and focuses on the existential and humanistic theories of psychology in order to enhance her use of an integrative psychological approach that includes techniques from CBT, DBT, TF-CBT and psychodynamics as well as family systems theory.
