New Student Enrollment 25-2026
-
Since 1964, Steel Center for Career and Technical Education has been preparing high school students for future education and workforce opportunities. The seventeen programs that are available to NEW students for the 2025-2026 school year are designed for student learning through a combination of real-world experiences with vital academic, technical, and employability skills needed in the modern workplace. Steel Center can be considered the intersection between the public school system and businesses and industries in the Mon Valley and South Hills areas of Southern Alleghany County. We help address the increasing skills gap (a disparity between the skills that job-seekers have and the skills that our local employers need). Steel Center's faculty and staff know what it takes to be successful in business and industry. Our teachers are expert practitioners in their respective fields and provide innovative programs that place high school students on the "Pathway to Success", which we define as being prepared to continue their education and obtain high-wage, high-demand careers right here in Allegheny County.
