Nurse Aide (NA)
A Nurse Aide is a vital part of the healthcare team. You work together with the team to provide compassionate care for nursing home residents, hospital patients or patients in their home. The Nurse Aide assists patients with activities of daily living and basic nursing procedures. The Nurse Aide is educated in a variety of patient care skills, such as taking vital signs, monitoring patients, feeding, dressing, showering and bed making.
This course is 9 weeks in length with classroom, lab and clinical portions equaling 120 total hours. The class/lab are held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The clinicial portion is held on Thursday from 6:45 AM to 3:00 PM at Jefferson Hills Manor in Jefferson Hills. An instructor will accompany the students during these times. The cost of the program is $900.00 which includes a student book + $102.00 for the Nurse Aide exam.
