    Dear Business Community Member:

With Governor Wolf extending the length of the mandatory closing of all public schools in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, understandably the job fair scheduled for April 15 and 16, 2020 at Steel Center for CTE has been cancelled.  In recent years, this event continued to grow in size as it offered an effective platform for direct engagement of local employers and CTE students.  Although the “normal” mode of operation has been interrupted, our dedication to serving the needs of CTE students and the business community has not.

The employment situation in our region, as well as the country, is in a state of great uncertainty due to the coronavirus crisis.   As the impact is being felt by our local business community, Steel Center wants to lend its support.   Efforts to create alternatives methods of connectivity, instruction, and outreach are currently being planned and developed.

Attached is a brief survey to assess your current and future hiring needs.  The information collected will help to improve our methods of engagement.  Your job announcements or flyers can be forwarded for posting to our job board.  An on-line submittal form will be available soon.  Also, for those businesses that registered for the job fair and made a monetary donation, you may identify your preference for use of the funds.  Please return your completed form and any correspondence to the following email address:  lwarabow@steelcentertech.com

No matter your circumstance, we are all in this together.  Please feel free to reach out to Steel Center.  Our website is updated continuously to provide the most current information regarding the school closing, COVID-19, student instruction, and staff contacts.

    Keep safe and stay well.
